After two years of planning, the 'pocket park' at Coast and Hurbert is one step closer to reality. On June 15 the Newport City Council approved an additional $100,000 in hard cost construction funding for the park when they adopted the 09/10 city budget. The extra funding was needed when the design and scope of the project expanded beyond the original $25,000 allocated in the 08/09 budget. The new budget begins July 1,2009. |
