DECO DISTRICT AWARDED $7,000 GRANT
from the Rural Business Economic Development of the US Dept of Agriculture. The grant is for technical assistance on the Art Deco Heritage Park at Coast Hwy 101 & SW Hurbert Street. The grant will allow the City of Newport funds dedicated toward the project to stretch further on actual construction. The stoplighted intersection sees over one million visitors each year and offers a highly visible

opportunity to improve the image of both the Deco District and the City as a whole. The park will serve as a “concrete” example of CCNA revitalization efforts. Completion is set for late 2008 or Winter 2009.
